We are aware that there are confirmed cases of COVID-19, the Corona Virus, in our neighboring county, Fulton County. We are doing our part at IAS to minimize the transmission of ALL viruses by working closely with our custodial staff to assure that all common areas are being disinfected regularly. Teachers have been asked to utilize disinfecting wipes or spray to clean all hard surfaces in their classrooms anytime students are not in the room. Students are being allowed to wash their hands multiple times throughout the day, in addition to the availability of alcohol-based hand sanitizer. We are infusing information into the curriculum that discusses the prevention of spreading germs. If your scholar becomes ill, with a severe cold or flu symptoms, please keep them home until symptom subside. If a fever is present, the scholar must be fever free for at least 24 hours. Please partner with us to reinforce the best practices listed below at home as well.
If we needed to close school due to the spread of the virus, our priority is to minimize the interruption to the educational process. Teachers will still use DOJO as a communication tool throughout the hours that school would be in session, and they will convey what the assignments are through that means. The expectation is that scholars would work from home utilizing i-Ready and other means of instruction in order to continue learning and interacting with their teacher.
Below are several links regarding this virus as well as provide preventative methods at home.
To help keep our school healthy, we are asking for donations of tissue, sanitizer, and Clorox and/or Lysol wipes.
Thank you for your cooperation.
