The International Academy of Smyrna will be a Title I, Targeted Assistance School for the 2017-2018 school year. Title I is a provision under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act where schools may use Title I funds to provide services to eligible children who are identified as having the greatest need for special assistance.
Eligible children will be identified by the school using multiple academic criteria. Parents of the identified students will be notified that support services are available. IAS will create a Title I, Targeted Assistance plan of support and interventions for the identified students. As a part of the plan, parent input and engagement will be requested. Parents will be notified of Title meetings and training at designated points during the school year.
We look forward to providing additional support for our students. Targeted Assistance is the first step to becoming a school-wide Title I program. For more information, please contact Zinta Perkins at Zinta.Perkins@iasmyrna.org.
